Hub Cutter
The manufacturer's online hub ordering system encoded the pipe fitting requirements into their part number. They wanted an automated machine that would accept the part number and cut the end of various sizes of hubs to fit perfectly to various sizes of adjoining pipe – so they contacted Simon Gaysinsky of Sibe Automation, who in turn contacted Ability Systems for the packaged and custom software that was necessary to make it happen. Now with a minimum amount of operator interaction the machine is pumping out parts for the manufacturer's online customers. Automation has huge returns!
